Europe is home to many of the world’s most visited cities. Are you looking to avoid the crowds of fellow tourists? The following cities have much to offer, but are currently underrated. Be warned, they’re up-and-coming, so visit while you can before the rest of the world finds out how great they are!

Bath, United Kingdom

If you’re interested in history, then Bath is the perfect city for you to visit. Bath offers landmarks including the Pulteney Bridge and the famed Roman Baths. The United Kingdom is a popular travel destination, but Bath is one city that doesn’t receive the attention it deserves. This means, however, that you won’t have to share the city with the crowds you would in other UK hotspots. Bath offers a peaceful and scenic break from other British destinations.

Berlin, Germany

Berlin is often overlooked for other, more popular European cities. In more recent years, however, the city has proved that it deserves another look. Berlin is both historically significant and future-facing. The city offers many parks, unique landmarks, and world-class museums. If you’re interested in learning more about the history behind World War II or visiting priceless ancient artifacts, Berlin is sure to have a museum that piques your interest.

Zurich, Switzerland

Switzerland is known for being an expensive destination, which prevents many people from visiting. A trip to Zurich, however, is worth every cent. Zurich is a city that has so much to offer. It features beautiful, historic churches, and you’ll come across many landmarks on a stroll through the city. If something active is more your style, you can go wakeboarding! The nearby mountains offer a peaceful escape from the city if you so desire.

Gdansk, Poland

Poland boasts many visitor-friendly cities, but Gdansk is one of the best. The city is unbelievably charming, in part due to its unique architecture and cobblestone streets. A great place to start is a tour on a boat that resembles a pirate ship. When you return to land, you’ll be inspired to see even more of the city.

Tallinn, Estonia

Tallinn will make you feel as if you’ve traveled through time back to the Middle Ages. The city is conveniently situated next to the beautiful Baltic Sea, and offers a quiet place to explore historic churches and castles. The people are quiet but friendly. Not only is Tallinn a serene and beautiful destination, but the prices are also quite low, making it great for travelers on a budget.

These cities may not be popular right now, but they have much to offer, whether it be historic landmarks, beautiful scenery, or unique activities.
